The weekend

So Friday started out interesting. At around 10am I get a phone call from the daycare...Savannah has pink eye! So I immediately called the doctor and made the first available appointment. When I went to get her from daycare I was shocked. Her eyes looked horrible, she looked completely different then she she did not but 3 hours ago. So a quick visit to the doctor and some eye drops she was good to go. I dropped her off at her Grandmas who was more then happy to spend some alone time with her and I went back to work. Nothing too exciting Friday night expect learning that BOTH kids would be sleeping at Grandmas house tomorrow night!!!

Saturday I woke up early and went to exercise class which I love! It really gets me going for the day. But once I got back from class I was running around like a crazy person. I had 2 hours before I had to take my car to the dealer for an oil change to shower, give the kids a bath, and pack their overnight bag. It was tough but I did it. Fast forward....I got home at around 230 and fed the kids before Roni and I dropped them off at Grandmas around 5. Being childless for the night Roni and I decided to go out to eat and to a movie. We ended up going to Red Robin since it is right across the street from the movie theatre. The food was good, you can't really mess-up a burger and fries. We decided to see Watchmen.

I thought it was going to be a great action movie, BUT it was NOT! I am a fan of the X-men, Batman, and I love action movies but this was just not comparable. And FYI it's 3 hours long. I mean it's a movie worth seeing at home on a Friday night but not worth going to the theatre to see in my opinion. I can see how it could have been great but it just fell short. It was very jumpy and unclear at points. And the one love connection was just odd, I don't want to give anything away but the one girl strays from her long time lover to hook-up with a long time friend. If you've seen the movie let me know what you think.

Sunday Roni and slept in until 9am! Yea 9am is sleeping in for us. So after getting up we went around and changed all the clocks ahead and then headed out to the Waffle House for breakfast. Yum Yum! After breakfast we picked-up the kids. The rest of the day we just relaxed and finally bought Savannahs flower girl dress for my sisters wedding, what do you think?

I can't wait for it to come. My sister saw the dress in some stores but then found it online for a fraction of the cost. I'm so excited!! My sister Nicole is getting married May 23rd. More posts to follow soon on that topic.

Well, I hope everyone had a nice weekend and was on time for work today! :-)

3 in 1

I have gone to 3 movies in 1 week.

The first movie was "He's Just Not That Into You" which I had previously posted about. Then came Friday night (2/13) and what better movie to see on Friday the 13th but "Friday the 13th"

I love horror movies. Roni on the other hand does NOT. You would never guess by looking at him. Let's just put it this way. The movie "What Lies Beneath" scared the begeebers out of him. So because of that my sister and Dad, yep Dad went along on 2/13 to the 10:20 viewing. I knew it was going to be packed but all I can say is WOW! I got there at 9:40 tickets in hand and walked into the lobby to find a line that went from one end of the building to other and started looping back. CRAZY! And of course when they started letting us in to the movie that perfectly formed long line became a mosh pit. I finally made it to decent seats in one piece and my sister and Dad soon followed. Now the movie..... It was good, if you liked the original then you'll like this one. There were some great parts that made you jump and gasp and as my sister said to me multiple times during the movie "Can you please fling yourself towards Dad next time" or "You're going to knock me out" and my favorite "You're like an Octopus". But then there were those classic parts where you say to the characters " Why are you going outside" or "Why are you leaving the group" But all and all it was an entertaining movie for a Friday night.

I saw the 3rd movie on Valentines Day (yep 2 movies in less than 24 hours) Underworld: Rise of the Lycans.

I loved this movie. If you liked the first 2 movies then you must see this one. It will be out on video soon, theatres are showing limited viewings.

Following the movie Roni and I went to Applebees to eat and we only had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. The food was good. I personally prefer going to The Outback or Carrabba's but we had a gift certificate to Applebees and it was across the street from the Theatre so we went there. All in all it was a great Valentines Day. Hope yours was too!

Sun, Surf, Sand.....

I've been going to the Outer Banks every summer (with the exception of the last 2 years)ever since I was born and I love it. I never get tired of it and look forward to it every year. We usually go down for a week in August. And by we I mean my family (sisters, mom, dad, boyfriends etc) and family friends. The group had gotten so large over the years that we now have to rent 2 beach houses and mind you that each of these houses hold at least 20-25 people. Yea it's a large group, you can imagine the face on the hostess when we go out to eat and they ask, "how may?" But it's so much fun and relaxing. I love the beach! I can't wait for this year to see how Mason and Savannah act. Unfortunately Roni and I didn't make it down the last 2 years :-( The first being because Savannah was pretty young and then last year because we surprisingly bought a house and didn't think we would be able to afford the trip. So this year we knew we were going. We just about have the house reservation finalized. This year Roni and I (and kids) are staying with one of my long time family friends and a few of Roni's friends and family. Roni had never been to the beach before I met him, but now I've got him and a few of his family members hooked! The good news is that the house we have picked out is a half a block away from the house my family always reserves. YEA!!! It's the perfect relaxing family vacation. For those of you who are not familiar with the Outer Banks you must check it out. http://www.outerbanks.org/index.asp I must warn you though there isn't a board walk or clubs, most of the places you can rent belong to a private beach so if you and your family like relaxing on a quiet non-crowded beach, dining out at family restaurants, and shopping at quaint unique stores then this is the place for you. My family and I usually rent from http://villagerealtyobx.com/ but there are a few other realty companies that we have used in the past and liked, if your interested just let me know and I will forward you the other companies names.

Well, while sorting out some of the details for this years trip Roni happened to throw the mail at me and low and behold was the latest Victoria Secret magazine. They were having a Swimsuit sale! It was fate!!! I just had to buy a suit or two. The last time I bought a suit was over 2 years ago, it was from the last time I went down the Outer Banks and it was from when I was pregnant with Savannah. So that just won't do for this years trip. And all my pre-pregnancy suits just won't do either, they are either old or made of very little material. Besides I had a VS gift certificate from my birthday and from Christmas and they were calling my name almost as loud as the VS magazine was. So low and behold here are my purchases.

Now I just have to make sure I can fit into them! haha. The count is on...hopefully I can drop 10-15lbs by August or sooner since I am my sisters maid or honor in her May wedding! (that's whole post in its own, coming soon) Between these pictures and my sisters wedding I have a lot of motivation.

I'm still on the hunt for one more suit and suits for Mason and Savannah.

What do you think of my purchases?

Cute

I didn't do much this weekend but I did go and see He's Just Not That Into You with my sister and her friend. It was cute, just like the book was. It's definitely a chick flick. It was funny because throughout the movie you could hear the few guys that were dragged there say, "Is it almost over." or "Oh my gosh, give me a break" followed by the girlfriend or wife's response, "Be quite I like it."

So if you and your girls are having a "Girls Night Out" it's definitely a movie that would fit in.

I so feel like a teenager!

So my sister recently told me about a site that you can go to... watch-movies.net and you can watch movies online for free. The quality isn't always the best but if you can't make it to the theatre and you're utterly board one Saturday afternoon it's perfect.

Which brings me to Saturday, January 17th.

I had been seeing all sorts of posts on blogs in regards to Twilight, books and movie. So, I watched Twilight, a movie that I didn't think would be that great and that I didn't really have much interest in. Boy was I wrong.

Well after watching it I bought the first 2 books, Twilight and New Moon from Amazon thinking that they would hold me over. You must understand that I am not a book person. The last time I read a book was in High School (about 8 years ago) and it was because it was mandatory. I was wrong. Two and a half days of lunch time crunch and laying my head down for sleep at 12am I was DONE with them and jonzin for more. I had a Borders gift certificate, so I trucked it to Borders on Friday after work and bought the last two, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. I started Friday night and went to bed at 3am. I would have stayed up the whole night to finish but after having to re-read a paragraph five times I knew it was time to call it quits. Well needless to day I finished it Saturday morning. Saturday night I started Breaking Dawn and pulled another 3am night. Woke up not feeling to great Sunday morning...I wonder why. A little Tylenol and some breakfast helped. By 2pm Sunday I was finished. I LOVED the books. Breaking Dawn was my favorite, I had mixed emotions at the end. I was happy how the story ended but also sad that it ended. I am looking forward to the New Moon movie coming out in November and I already pre-ordered Twilight on Amazon. I hope that they make a movie for each of the books.

One thing I must admit, after reading Twilight I watched the movie again and had a much better understanding of everything. The movie in my opinion was good but the book was amazing.

Any suggestions on any other good books?
